Rustic meets refined.
layers and layers of texture, color and juxtaposition of old and new, rough and elegant.
Difficult to see because of the dark wee hours of the morning, but I put crystals on this shell on the lower left to balance out the natural difference in the scallops bottom pins and a few crystal "bubbles" on the top right - the crystals tie this piece to the looking glasses.
A Tibetan silver Victorian stamping of a woman with vines and flowers and rough solder bands embellish the early 1800s bottle of this deep Mexican scallop shell bottle.
Classic - white scallop on cut glass, which will also tie into the glass bottomed looking glasses.
Gorgeous striations and variegated hues - little solder nailhead "pearls" are added to this and a few of the pieces.
